Bacon Cheeseburger Recipe
Ingredients:
For the burgers:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 fat ratio for juicier burgers)
- 4 slices cheddar cheese (or your preferred cheese)
- 4 strips of bacon, cooked until crispy
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 small onion, sliced into rings
- 4 slices of tomato
- Lettuce leaves
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
For toppings and condiments:
- Ketchup
- Mayonnaise
- Mustard
- Pickles (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the burger patties: In a large bowl, season the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika (if using). Gently mix until combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, about ¾ inch thick. Press a small indent in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.
- Cook the bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until crispy. Remove the bacon and drain on paper towels. Set aside.
- Cook the patties: In the same skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the burger patties and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (medium, medium-rare, etc.). When the patties are almost done, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each one and allow it to melt.
- Toast the buns: While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns in a separate pan or in the oven.
- Assemble the burgers: Spread your preferred condiments (ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard) on the bottom bun. Place a lettuce leaf on the bun, followed by a tomato slice and onion rings. Add the cheeseburger patty, then top with two slices of crispy bacon.
- Finish and serve: Place the top bun over the bacon, and serve your bacon cheeseburger with pickles and fries on the side, if desired.
Enjoy your delicious, homemade bacon cheeseburger!
