Chaffle Breadsticks with Garlic Butter Recipe
Ingredients
For the Chaffle Breadsticks:
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
For the Garlic Butter:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped (or 1 tsp dried parsley)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Chaffle Mixture:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs.
- Add the shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning (if using). Mix until well combined.
- Cook the Chaffles:
- Preheat your waffle maker.
- Grease the waffle maker lightly with non-stick spray or butter.
- Spoon the chaffle mixture into the waffle maker, spreading it evenly. Close the waffle maker and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the chaffles are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the chaffles from the waffle maker and let them cool slightly.
- Shape the Breadsticks:
- Once the chaffles have cooled enough to handle, cut them into breadstick shapes. You can cut each chaffle into 3-4 strips, depending on the size of your waffle maker.
- Prepare the Garlic Butter:
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
- Coat the Breadsticks:
- Brush the garlic butter mixture generously over each chaffle breadstick. Make sure to cover both sides for maximum flavor.
- Optional: Toast the Breadsticks:
- For extra crispiness, you can place the buttered chaffle breadsticks under the broiler for 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
- Serve:
- Serve the chaffle breadsticks warm, with your favorite dipping sauce if desired.
