Bacon Cheeseburger on Frisco Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend for juicier burgers)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 slices bacon
- 4 slices cheddar or American cheese
- 8 slices Frisco bread (or Texas toast or sourdough, for similar flavor)
- 4 tbsp butter, softened
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 small tomato, sliced
- 4 leaves of lettuce
- 4 pickle slices (optional)
Instructions:
- Cook the Bacon:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
- Make the Burger Patties:
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties slightly larger than the bread (they’ll shrink while cooking).
- Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Cook the Burger Patties:
- In the same skillet over medium-high heat, cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to help the cheese melt.
- Toast the Frisco Bread:
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of Frisco bread. In a large skillet or on a griddle over medium heat, toast the buttered side of the bread until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Make the Sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard until well combined.
- Assemble the Burgers:
- Spread a layer of the sauce on the toasted side of 4 Frisco bread slices. Place a cheeseburger patty on each, then top with crispy bacon, a slice of tomato, lettuce, and a pickle slice if desired. Add the remaining slice of Frisco bread, toasted side facing the ingredients.
- Serve:
- Cut the burgers in half, if desired, and serve warm with fries, onion rings, or a side salad.
Enjoy your indulgent bacon cheeseburger on deliciously toasted Frisco bread!
