Cheesy Spinach Casserole Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs (900 g) fresh spinach, washed and chopped (or 2 cups frozen spinach, thawed and drained)
- 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
- 1 cup (115 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup (50 g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup (30 g) breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
- 2 tablespoons butter (melted, for topping)
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Spinach:
- If using fresh spinach, blanch it in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain and squeeze out excess water.
- If using frozen spinach, thaw it and squeeze out excess moisture.
- Mix Ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine the spinach, heavy cream, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, nutmeg (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine. - Assemble the Casserole:
Transfer the spinach mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly. - Optional Topping:
If using breadcrumbs, mix them with the melted butter and sprinkle evenly over the casserole. - Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the top is golden brown. - Serve:
