Here’s a simple and flavorful Chicken and Green Bean Stir-Fry recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb chicken breast, thinly sliced
- 2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- ¼ cup water or chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Sesame seeds and green onions, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the chicken:
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce (if using), and sesame oil. Set aside.
- Toss the sliced chicken with salt and pepper. If you prefer a thicker sauce, toss the chicken with cornstarch.
- Blanch the green beans:
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the green beans. Cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp. Drain and set aside.
- Stir-fry the chicken:
- In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken slices and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
- Sauté the aromatics and vegetables:
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil. Sauté the onion, garlic, and ginger for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add the blanched green beans and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.
- Combine and sauce:
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Pour in the prepared sauce and ¼ cup of water or chicken broth. Stir everything together, letting the sauce thicken slightly and coat the chicken and beans.
- Add heat (optional):
- If you like it spicy, sprinkle in some red pepper flakes and stir.
- Garnish and serve:
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
