Chocolate Twinkie Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
- 1 box of chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients needed as per the box instructions)
- 1 cup of water
- 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
For the Filling:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup marshmallow fluff
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream (optional, for a lighter texture)
For the Chocolate Ganache (Optional):
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Cake:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix according to the package instructions until well combined.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
2. Prepare the Filling:
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
- Add the marshmallow fluff and powdered sugar. Mix until well combined.
- Add the vanilla extract and beat until the mixture is smooth.

4. Prepare the Chocolate Ganache (Optional):
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
- Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth.
