Classic Beef Chili
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped (red or green)
- 2 cans (15 oz each) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- Β½ tsp oregano
- ΒΌ tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup beef broth (or water)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
- Cook the Beef:
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Remove excess fat if necessary.
- Add Vegetables:
- Add chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper to the pot with the beef.
- Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
