Glazed and Seasoned Pork Bites Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) pork tenderloin or pork shoulder, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional, for extra spice)
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions:
- Season the Pork:
- In a mixing bowl, toss the pork cubes with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well until all pieces are evenly coated.
- Sear the Pork:
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork cubes in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Work in batches if needed to avoid crowding the pan. Remove the pork and set aside.
- Prepare the Glaze:
- In the same skillet, add soy sauce, honey (or maple syrup), apple cider vinegar, and chili flakes. Stir and let the glaze simmer for 2-3 minutes until it starts to thicken slightly.
- Combine Pork and Glaze:
- Return the seared pork to the skillet, tossing it in the glaze. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the glaze thickens and coats the pork evenly.
- Serve:
- Transfer the pork bites to a serving plate, sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley, and serve warm.
These glazed pork bites make a fantastic appetizer or pair well with rice or veggies for a main dish! Enjoy!
