Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for grilled cheeseburgers:
Grilled Cheeseburgers
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend for best flavor and juiciness)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 slices of cheese (American, cheddar, or your choice)
- 4 hamburger buns
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles (optional, for toppings)
- Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise (optional, for condiments)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Patties:
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape them into patties. Avoid overworking the meat to keep the burgers tender.
- Season both sides of each patty with salt and pepper.
- Preheat the Grill:
- Heat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a charcoal grill, let the coals burn down until they are covered with white ash.
- Grill the Patties:
- Lightly brush the grill grates with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
- Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer them more done. Do not press down on the patties to keep them juicy.
- Add Cheese:
- About 1 minute before the burgers are done, place a slice of cheese on each patty. Close the grill lid to melt the cheese.
- Toast the Buns:
- During the last 2 minutes of grilling, place the buns, cut side down, on the grill to toast them lightly.
- Assemble the Burgers:
- Place the cooked patties on the bottom half of the toasted buns. Add your preferred toppings and condiments.
- Serve:
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve hot.
Enjoy your grilled cheeseburgers!
