Homemade Bread in the Air Fryer
Here’s an easy recipe to make soft and golden bread using an air fryer!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm water (110°F / 45°C)
- 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
- Optional: 1 tbsp milk (for brushing)
Instructions:
- Activate the yeast:
- In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy. This shows the yeast is active.
- Make the dough:
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix and knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
- First Rise:
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Shape the dough:
- After the first rise, punch down the dough to release air. Shape it into a round loaf or divide it into smaller rolls.
- Second Rise:
- Place the shaped dough in a greased cake pan or small loaf pan that fits your air fryer basket. Cover and let it rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for 5 minutes.
- Bake the bread:
- Brush the top with milk for a golden crust (optional).
- Place the pan in the air fryer and bake at 320°F (160°C) for 15-20 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing. Enjoy your homemade bread fresh with butter or your favorite spread!
