Lasagna Rolls Recipe
Ingredients
For the Filling:
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Sauce:
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Lasagna Rolls:
- 12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Sauce:
- Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until soft and fragrant.
- Stir in the marinara sauce, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Prepare the Filling:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, chopped spinach, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until well combined.
- Assemble the Lasagna Rolls:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lay out the cooked lasagna noodles on a clean surface.
- Spread a thin layer of the ricotta mixture over each noodle.
- Roll up each noodle and place them seam side down in a greased baking dish.
- Bake the Lasagna Rolls:
- Pour the prepared marinara sauce over the lasagna rolls.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve:
- Let the lasagna rolls cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
