Here’s a recipe for a rich and moist banana bread:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1/3 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream the butter and sugar: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Mix in bananas and sour cream: Stir in the mashed bananas and sour cream or Greek yogurt until well combined.
- Combine dry and wet ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Add mix-ins: If using, fold in the chopped nuts and/or chocolate chips.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool: Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve: Slice and enjoy!
