Here’s a recipe for Steak and Creamy Shrimp:
Ingredients:
For the Steak:
- 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 8-10 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, smashed
- Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
For the Creamy Shrimp:
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley or chives for garnish
Instructions:
Cook the Steak:
- Season the steak: Pat the steaks dry with paper towels, then generously season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Sear the steaks: Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and butter. When the butter is melted and sizzling, add the steaks. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust cooking time for desired doneness).
- Add garlic and herbs: In the last minute of cooking, add the smashed garlic and herbs (if using), basting the steaks with the melted butter.
- Rest the steaks: Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes under foil.
Creamy Shrimp:
- Sauté the shrimp: In the same skillet, add butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until pink. Remove and set aside.
- Make the creamy sauce: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer, stirring frequently.
- Add Parmesan and lemon: Stir in the Parmesan cheese and lemon juice. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Return the shrimp: Add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet, tossing to coat them in the creamy sauce.
Serve:
Slice the rested steaks and plate them alongside the creamy shrimp. Drizzle the creamy sauce over the steak or serve it on the side. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives if desired.
Enjoy your rich and flavorful steak and shrimp dinner!
